Scientist who said climate change sceptics had been proved wrong accused of hiding truth by colleague

It was hailed as the scientific study that ended the global warming debate once and for all – the research that, in the words of its director, ‘proved you should not be a sceptic, at least not any longer’.

Professor Richard Muller, of Berkeley University in California, and his colleagues from the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperatures project team (BEST) claimed to have shown that the planet has warmed by almost a degree centigrade since 1950 and is warming continually.

Published last week ahead of a major United Nations climate summit in Durban, South Africa, next month, their work was cited around the world as irrefutable evidence that only the most stringent measures to reduce carbon dioxide emissions can save civilisation as we know it.

But today The Mail on Sunday can reveal that a leading member of Prof Muller’s team has accused him of trying to mislead the public by hiding the fact that BEST’s research shows global warming has stopped.

Prof Judith Curry, who chairs the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at America’s prestigious Georgia Institute of Technology, said that Prof Muller’s claim that he has proven global warming sceptics wrong was also a ‘huge mistake’, with no scientific basis.

Prof Curry is a distinguished climate researcher with more than 30 years experience and the second named co-author of the BEST project’s four research papers. Read More:

Muslims join Athiests in battle against Christians

Offensive to Muslims

Muslim students at the renowned Catholic University have complained their human rights have been violated by the college.

The students claim they are surrounded by ‘a wooden crucifix, paintings of Jesus, pictures of priests and theologians which many Muslim students find inappropriate.’

The complaint, launched by John Banzhaf, an attorney and professor at George Washington University Law School.

He claimed some Muslim students were particularly offended because they had to meditate overlooked by the cathedral that looms over the entire campus – the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

He told Fox News: “It shouldn’t be too difficult to set aside a small room where Muslims can pray without having to stare up and be looked down upon by a cross of Jesus.

What IS the truth about the Enfield Poltergeist? Amazing story of 11-year-old London girl who ‘levitated’ above her bed

The rasping male voice sent a chill through the room. Hauntingly, it delivered a message from beyond the grave, describing in graphic detail the moment of death.

‘Just before I died, I went blind, and then I had an ’aemorrhage and I fell asleep and I died in the chair in the corner downstairs.’

The eerie voice — which can still be heard on audio tapes today — is purportedly that of Bill Wilkins. The recording was made in Enfield, North London, in the Seventies, several years after his death. Read More:

Black tea partier calls Democrats the ‘party of the KKK,’ says abortion is black ‘genocide’

Conservative activist Apostle Claver Kamau-Imani, founder and chairman of Raging Elephants, told the Daily Caller that abortion in the United States amounts to “genocide … of African American babies.” And he sent liberals on MSNBC into fits of horror Wednesday after he spoke to a Houston tea party rally and called Democrats “racists” and “the party of the Ku Klux Klan.”

“If anybody is racist it is the Democratic Party,” he said. ”They’re the racists, the party of the Ku Klux Klan, the party of Jim Crow, the party of Bull Conner, the party of segregation.”

“They are the racists, not us. We’re their friends, we’re the emancipators, we’re the liberators, we’re the ones who believe in freedom.” Read More:

Nurse Making $269,810 Demonstrates California’s Overtime Binge

Jean Keller earned $269,810 last year working as a nurse at a men’s prison on California’s central coast by tripling her regular pay with overtime hours.

Keller got more overtime in 2010 than any other state employee. In all, California’s public workers collected $1.7 billion of extra pay last year, more than half of it in overtime, state payroll data show. The rest was for unused vacation and union-negotiated benefits such as uniform allowances, physical-fitness incentives and special compensation in recognition of a “complex work load.”
